Since 2005, mens and womens teams from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Russia, Sweden and Finland have taken part in the international curling tournament BALTIC CUP.
In 2012 the Latvian Curling Association has decided to continue this tradition. That is why BALTIC CUP 2012 will be hosted in Riga, Latvia in a specialized, two sheet curling hall. The womens competition will run from the 6th to the 8th of January 2012, while the mens competition will take place the following weekend from the 13th to the 15th of January 2012.
Curling teams from all nine Baltic Sea region countries are invited to participate – each country is allocated one spot for the womens and one spot for the mens competition. Latvia, as the host country, will get 2 spots for the mens and womens competitions.
