Accommodation

We do not offer special curler's rate in any of the accommodation in town. However, we offer you assistance in finding the sort of accommodation you wish to use, whather it be a hotel, guesthouse, cottage or something else. A good start would be to take a look at our town's tourist information website (see below), where you can find out about accommodation and almost everything our area has to offer.

Additional Information

Akureyri Curling Club - which is really a branch of the Akureyri Skating Club - was founded on May 22nd 1996. We will end this season with ICELAND CURLING WEEK, a celebration of our 15th anniversary. It is very simple, this is not the right time to miss Ice Cup.

Ice Cup 2011, our 8th open bonspiel and a part of Iceland Curling Week 2011, will mark the end of our curling club's 15th anniversary celebration.

The tournament itself will start on Thursday afternoon, May 5, and end on Saturday afternoon, May 7. Opening party will take place on Wednesday night, May 4. Final dinner party is on Saturday night, May 7. Other activities and celebrations will be announced later.

Included in entry fee: Opening party, curling, final dinner party for four players. Tickets for extra players and guests available at the arena for fair price. Ice Cup is open to any four curlers. Four games guaranteed.
